Kate Henry, pianist

Kate Henry, born and raised in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines, is a classically trained pianist, a licensed K-12 music teacher, a music education researcher, and the author of an original piano book series for children. She was given the "Artist" status by the Tokyo Immigration in 2025. Recently, she obtained accreditation as an Individual Artist by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, a national and official governing body for culture and the arts in the Philippines.
Currently, she is based in Tokyo, working as an independent music and piano teacher with Henry Music and Arts, co-founded with her husband. She teaches private piano lessons and organizes bi-annual recitals for her piano students. The Philippine Embassy in Japan invites her to diplomatic and cultural events to perform. She founded the Philippines-Tokyo Concert Series in 2024, which aims to promote Philippine music to international audiences in Japan. She also performs in five-star hotels in Tokyo as a lounge pianist and collaborative artist.
